As an artist, Gwyn Kohr creates textural paintings that are evocative of nature. The landscape, water, and the vegetation surrounding us, all provide inspiration for her work. Within the fluid space of each piece she achieves a balance and integration between form and non-form, abstraction and representation. Simple yet complex, meditative yet full of energy; Gwyn’s paintings are visual poetry. Gwyn Kohr grew up in Southern California and received her art degree from California State University, Bakersfield. She taught painting for many years in California prior to relocating to Charlottesville, Virginia where she lives with her husband and two children.
